Each year, Youth Quest commits to partner with a ministry within the IPHC to “make an impact.” In 2008, through the Global Quest Offering, youth from the IPHC contributed $30,000 to Free Camp, People to People Ministries, and Metro Ministries’ Christmas Project.
This year, we have the privilege of partnering with these three ministries again through the Global Quest Offering! These ministries are making a difference in the lives of children and teens every day.
Free Camp
“In 1990, Christian Heritage Church (Amarillo, TX) began holding Free Camp, so-named because it’s free! Free Camp endeavors to build a utopia where all people regardless of race, social or economic barriers are treated equally. There are no competitions that allow someone with an athletic or intellectual advantage to win. Each child is encouraged to build relationships with their small groups as they spend the day together. Free Camp has expanded and is becoming a ‘missions trip’ for teens across the nation, offering outreaches for them in Amarillo (TX), Phoenix (AZ) and Petersburg (VA). Join this exciting opportunity to share the Good News with those who are hungry for love.”

Hope4Sudan
Sudan, the largest country in Africa, also holds the distinction of having Africa’s longest running civil war. The aftermath of the past 21 years of fighting has left Southern Sudan in devastation and rendered the land left intact mostly infertile. People are starving, sick and living in extreme poverty. Millions have died. Others have been forced from their homes and separated from family. Like most third world countries, the lack of clean drinking water causes serious health risks, but Sudan’s water situation is only made worse by Guinea Worm disease. One out of every four infants will not live to reach age five. If ever there were a place that truly exemplifies the complete essence of Matthew 25:35-36, it is Southern Sudan, because its children were left hungry, thirsty and naked.
The need is overwhelming, but Hope4Sudan is making a huge difference in the lives the project has already been able to touch. Hope4Sudan is building compounds including a church, school, medical clinic and deep water well. Hope4Sudan is also partnering with People to People, a Christian humanitarian relief organization, to establish feeding and educational programs in a country which is both starving and illiterate. While much has been accomplished already, still, there is a tremendous necessity to find additional child sponsorships and to get schools and medical clinics fully operational.

Metro Ministries “Christmas Project”
“Metro Ministries, in Brooklyn, New York, provides Christmas stockings and gifts to over 40,000 inner city children each year. Many of these are children that they minister to on a weekly basis. The looks on the children’s faces are priceless when they are handed that special gift during one of over 75 Sidewalk Sunday Schools across the city or six sessions held at Metro all within a week in December. What you give during the Global Quest offering provides gifts for many kids who would otherwise have nothing. Their smiles, laughter and excitement are absolutely contagious. It’s not just dollars you give, but a tool of hope for kids that many say are hopeless. Thank you for helping provide Hope through a gift given with love at Christmas.”
